I have wanted to update the blog for two weeks now. However I have had a lot going on and it has been nearly impossible. I've had to reformat my computer, or in less techy terms, restore it back to factory settings. That was the last thing I wanted to do and tried everything I could to prevent it, but it became necessary. My computer had gotten to the point where it was freezing up and so slow that it was no longer realistic to continue using it in the shape it was in.

Before I could restore it I had to make copies of everything I wanted to keep because the process gets rid of anything and everything you have placed on the computer since you purchased it. In short, it is the equivalent of taking an eraser to it. But that was the easy part. The fun began once that was done.

It is a machine and with machines comes unpredictability. Lots of unexpected surprises have popped up in the form of errors and things that don't work as they should. This has led to countless hours spent trying to iron out the kinks.

Think of it as putting together a puzzle. If all the pieces aren't fitted together correctly than it won't work. So I have been putting it together, piece by piece which takes time.

Through all the challenges of trying to fix and optimize it for better performance, I have gained a lot of valuable knowledge and a deeper understanding of how computers work.

On a different note, my performances have been going well and I'm looking forward to my time in Pigeon Forge later this month. We begin taping thirty shows early on the 16th and will wrap up on the 19th.

While we're there, we plan to see the new Titanic exhibit that opened in April. It is the largest permanent Titanic exhibit in the world.

Seeing it will add depth to all the research I have done on the ship and I know it will be an unforgettable experience.
